San Marcos artist, Anji Johnson, becomes the first artist of the fall schedule for Rio Claro Studio who open the season on September 15 with an opening reception for the artist from 6 - 9 PM.
Johnson's work layers a variety of mediums, materials, colors and textures; sometimes even including objects like keys, doorknobs, leaves and textiles. Her colors are the warm colors of memory and nostalgia while her stories and pictures remain elusive treasures.
In addition to the mixed media collaged works, Anji will be showing some of her jewelry which is uses many found objects as their source materials. The exhibition at Rio Claro Studio will extend through October 8, 2016. It is artist Johnson's first show at Rio Claro Studio. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday from 12 to 6 PM.
